Tiffany Today
These days there are very few actual antique Tiffany lamps available to the public for sale and the ones that are available are highly revered collector's items, commanding a high value. Most people wishing to purchase a Tiffany lamp have to settle for a "Tiffany Reproduction", of which there are many sellers. A Tiffany reproduction is a lamp made by another who reproduced the same design as Tiffany Studios. They sell for significantly less than an original Tiffany lamp, but are made to emulate the originals in most cases. The price range for Tiffany reproductions is generally between $200 to $5000 in the U.S.

The making of most Tiffany style lamps and reproduction Tiffany lamps follow the tradition of the original Tiffany lamps, by soldering many (often hundreds) of colorful stained glass pieces together.

Tiffany lamps that are often created by using the same Copper Foil Method as the originals, an authentic glass assembly method originally developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. A pattern for the lamp is drawn out on a heavy piece of cardboard. Then a number and glass color is written on the pattern piece. The pattern is drawn and labeled, then the pattern is traced onto the glass, pieces can be cut and ground to their correct shape. Glass pieces then are cleaned so the copper foil can be applied to the edges. The copper foil solution allows the pieces to adhere together. Once the lamp is fully bonded, the edges need to be soldered together for a firm hold. Finally, after the lamp has been soldered, it is cleaned to bring out each lamps individual beauty.
